Course Summary
Are you brand new to firearms? Start here!! NSSF’s First Shots® is the perfect introduction to shooting for anyone who is firearm-curious, brand-new to gun ownership, or just wants to learn the basics in a safe and welcoming space. This beginner-friendly course combines hands-on instruction with live-fire experience, providing a low-pressure, judgment-free environment where you can build confidence, ask questions, and learn at your own pace.
Course Objective
The primary goal of this class is to introduce first-time shooters to the fundamentals of firearm safety and operation. You’ll learn how firearms and ammunition work, how to safely handle and store a firearm, and what to expect at the range.
By the end of the course, you’ll not only have completed your first supervised shooting session, but you’ll also leave with a solid foundation in firearm safety and the knowledge needed to continue your training journey with confidence.

Course Prerequisites
No experience?? No problem!! There are no prerequisites for this course. Everything is provided—including the firearm, ammunition, eye & ear protection, and expert instruction. Just bring your curiosity and a positive attitude.

Our class fees are non-refundable.
However, you may reschedule once at no additional charge with sufficient advance notice. Rescheduling with less notice will incur a rescheduling fee.
No-shows cannot be rescheduled.
To reschedule, please contact us in advance with your preferred future class date, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
We may cancel classes at at any time, and participants will be rescheduled to the next available session, which may be at a different location.
Refunds are not available under any circumstances.
