Range Rules

  1. Always Treat Every Firearm as if It’s Loaded – Never assume a gun is unloaded. Always check the chamber and magazine.
  2. Keep the Muzzle Pointed in a Safe Direction – Always ensure the firearm is pointed downrange or in a designated safe area.
  3. Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger – Until you are ready to shoot, keep your finger outside the trigger guard.
  4. Be Aware of Your Target and Beyond – Know what you are shooting at and what lies beyond it. Ensure that no one is in the line of fire.
  5. Wear Appropriate Eye and Ear Protection – Always use safety glasses and hearing protection while on the range.
  6. Follow Range Commands – Always listen to and follow the commands of the range officer or staff.
  7. Do Not Handle Firearms While Others Are Downrange – Only handle firearms when the range is clear and everyone is behind the firing line.
  8. Use the Right Ammunition – Ensure you are using the correct ammunition for your firearm. Check for compatibility.
  9. Report Any Unsafe Behavior – If you see someone behaving unsafely, notify the range staff immediately.
  10. Store Firearms Safely When Not in Use – Keep firearms in a secured case or safe when not being actively used at the range.
  11. No Alcohol or Drugs – Do not consume alcohol or drugs before or while shooting. This includes prescription medications that may impair your ability.
  12. Keep the Shooting Area Clean – Dispose of all spent casings and trash appropriately to maintain a safe shooting environment.
