Course Summary

This engaging 2-day, 6-hour hands-on training is designed to take you from “I just bought an AR-15” to confidently running your rifle—safely, effectively, and with purpose. Following a “crawl, walk, run, sprint” learning model, you’ll start with the essentials and build your skills progressively through safe handling, efficient manipulation, and confidence-building drills.
Whether you’re new to the AR platform or looking to refine your fundamentals, this course combines structure, repetition, and just the right amount of fun to develop real-world competence.

Course Objectives

Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to handle and operate your AR-15 rifle safely and effectively. Students will:

  • Establish safe handling habits specific to rifle work
  • Develop solid manipulation and shooting fundamentals
  • Learn how to reload and clear malfunctions under pressure
  • Grow in skill, awareness, and control—step-by-step

Course Description

From your very first press check to shooting on the move, The AR-15 – Crawl, Walk, FUN!! is all about developing confidence in a supportive environment. With safety as our foundation, we’ll progress through dry-practice drills and live-fire exercises that sharpen your grip, stance, and mechanical understanding of the AR-15 platform. You’ll train through real-world scenarios while having a blast doing it.

  • Rifle safety and handling
  • Proper stance and shoulder placement
  • Loading/unloading, press checks, and sling use
  • Optics and basic zeroing concepts
  • Recoil management and follow-through
  • Emergency vs. tactical reloads
  • Malfunction identification and clearing
  • Shooting from standing, kneeling, prone positions
  • Intro to rifle movement and transitions
  • Target acquisition techniques
  • Live-fire progressions through each phase: Crawl → Walk → FUN!!

Course Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites. However, students should:

  • Be comfortable with basic firearm safety rules
  • Have a working understanding of handling firearms in a controlled setting
  • If you’re brand new to firearms, we recommend completing a basic safety course beforehand for the best experience

  • AR-15 rifle (with sling—2-point preferred)
  • At least 2 magazines (more is better!)
  • Magazine pouch
  • 200+ rounds of factory ammo (no reloads)
  • Electronic hearing protection
  • Eye protection
  • Brimmed hat
  • Range-appropriate clothing
  • Range bag
  • Snacks, hydration, and a packed lunch
  • Note-taking materials
  • A positive, coachable attitude!

Our class fees are non-refundable.

However, you may reschedule once at no additional charge with sufficient advance notice. Rescheduling with less notice will incur a rescheduling fee.

No-shows cannot be rescheduled.

To reschedule, please contact us in advance with your preferred future class date, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

We may cancel classes at at any time, and participants will be rescheduled to the next available session, which may be at a different location.
